Highlands Community Health Fair
Prestonsburg – Debbie Ousley, Clinical Educator, at Highlands Regional Medical Center, stated that more than 250 individuals throughout the community attended the 2009 Highlands Community Health Fair, held in November at the Medical Office Building.
Participants arrived as early as 7 a.m. to take advantage of free laboratory work including fasting blood sugar counts, cholesterol screening and A1C levels. Additionally, information and other screenings were available including blood pressure reading, pulse oximetry, weight and body mass index readings.
A host of vendors participated in the Health Fair from around the community.
“We are pleased to have hosted this Health Fair as an opportunity to provide area residents with important health care information and screenings,” Ousley said. “We are also appreciative of the many vendors who participated in this event.”
