HRMC Installs Digital X-Ray In Martin County Clinic

Prestonsburg – Highlands Regional Medical Center announced the installation of a state-of-the-art digital X-Ray unit in the Martin County Clinic, located at the intersection of KY Highway 645 and Route 3.

The Martin County Clinic provides healthcare for area families, and the new digital X-Ray technology will allow physicians and staff to provide improved patient diagnosis, treatment and care. The enhanced diagnostic quality afforded by the unit also emits a smaller dose of radiation than traditional equipment, and allows technicians to perform their responsibilities with reduced patient time on the X-Ray table.

“Images are available instantaneously, saving time and repeat procedures and exposures,” Melissa Biery, Director of Radiology at Highlands Regional Medical Center, explained. “And, these digital images can be shared electronically with any designated physician or hospital.”

Biery said that HRMC’s continued commitment to technology is providing increased efficiency and responsiveness, “while improving the overall quality of healthcare to people in the Big Sandy region.”
