Volunteers Honored At Highlands As Part of National Volunteer Week

Prestonsburg – During the week of April 19-25, volunteers across the nation had a spotlight on their spirit and work as America celebrated National Volunteer Week. The week is a signature event of the Points of Light Institute. Among the countless volunteers nationwide are the more than 70 volunteers who make a difference at Highlands Regional Medical Center.

Highlands held a luncheon on April 20th to acknowledge the endeavors of volunteers throughout the hospital. At the luncheon, a picture display board illustrated the spirit of volunteerism, and each individual was presented a special gift from the hospital in thanks for their service. A reception closed the activities honoring the volunteers.

β€œIn our endless pursuit of providing a personal touch with quality care, volunteers truly make a difference at Highlands. These dedicated individuals are a part of our hospital family and help us deliver on our pledge of developing a healthier community,” commented Community Development Director Melissa Vance.
