Critical Care Team at Highlands
Prestonsburg – May is National Critical Care month, a time when healthcare professionals across the nation are recognized for their abilities and commitment to excellence. There is no shortage of outstanding critical care nurses at Highlands Regional Medical Center.
“The dedicated nursing professionals who care for critically ill patients and their families deserve to be recognized, and May is set aside in honor of their efforts,” Director of the Critical Care Unit Sharon Dingus said. “This is a time of observance which celebrates and recognizes the dedication and commitment that critical care team members demonstrate each and every day at Highlands.”
“If a person or their loved one has been in our CCU, there is normally a great deal of stress and emotional burdens which are being experienced,” Dingus explained. “At Highlands, we recognize that nursing care extends beyond the patient to also care for the family; to provide accurate and timely information and to understand the hurt and fear they are feeling. Our nurses do an outstanding job of caring both for the patient and the patient’s family.”
