Prestonsburg – National Hospital Week is recognized across the nation this week, and Highlands Health System is using the annual celebration to recognize and to show appreciation to its professional team.
A reception is being held this week for all health system employees, at which time each will be presented with a special gift in recognition of the outstanding work of the team at Highlands. National Hospital Week is the nation’s largest health care event. It was begun in 1921 on the recommendation of a journalist who suggested that the public needed to have a greater awareness of local hospitals. It has been celebrated each year since then.
