Prestonsburg – Highlands Regional Medical Center would like to announce that Men’s National Health Week is slated
for June 14-20, 2010. The dates reflect an annual event created to encourage males of all ages to heighten awareness of preventable health problems.
Dr. Anthony Stumbo, Medical Director at Highlands Regional Medical Center, said “This week gives health care providers a forum from which we can urge men of all ages to lead healthy lifestyles and to arrange for physicals which can detect any problems.”
National Men’s Health Week messages encourage men to seek regular medical advice, which can lead to early treatment for disease and injuries. Across the nation, hundreds of awareness activities are held in support of the initiative.
“While not gender-biased, early diagnosis and treatment is as essential to men as it is for women,” Stumbo said. “There’s no better time than today to ensure good health and to begin a healthier lifestyle. Our physicians and staff stand ready to serve those who wish to address their health care concerns.”
