Highlands Regional Medical Center pharmacy made a donation to Marshall University’s School of Pharmacy. The donation will benefit the new pharmacy school, slated to open this August. This new institution will offer 76,000 square feet of learning, research, and pharmacy practicing facilities.
Marshall’s School of Pharmacy Dean, Kevin W. Yingling, R.Ph., MD. was visiting Highlands when he spotted a piece of equipment that he thought could be of use in their facility. Generously, Highlands Medical Center Pharmacy donated that equipment, the Laminar Airflow Hood, which is used for IV Aseptic preparation. The new pharmacy school is going to use the machine for IV training. This will allow even more preparation and education for pharmacy students and graduates.
“I feel it is necessary to support the growth of the pharmacy profession and supporting pharmacy schools is an excellent way to begin.” – Vylinda Howard, PharmD., Director of Pharmacy Services
