Mental Health Technician / Adult BHI / FT
The Mental Health Technician will work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse and will be responsible for monitoring and reporting of patient behaviors, assisting in daily care, crisis situations, and medical emergencies as needed as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
High school graduate or equivalent, preferred CPI certified (Within 90 days after hire). Previous mental health experience preferred. Training/equivalent experience as a nursing assistant or Certified Nurse Aide. BLS preferred or within 30 days after hire. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately. Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred. Basic computer knowledge is preferred. Ability to move or lift patients and equipment. Ability to work independently within general guidelines. Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written. Ability to work flexible hours. Ability to work with adults experiencing mental health disturbances or dual diagnoses. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods and do heavy lifting.
