Provides basic nursing care to pre and postoperative patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assists in preparation of patient beds for admissions, and postoperative surgical patients. Assists with transfers and discharges. Transports patients to and from various departments. Assists patient with dressing and undressing. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure and intake/output measurements. Demonstrates knowledge of infection control policies and is able to provide general care for these patients and avoid cross contamination. Reports any changes in condition or behavior of patients to appropriate nurse.
