What is Home Health?
Home Health is a wide range of health and social services that
can be delivered in your home to recovering disabled or chronically
ill persons in need of medical, nursing, therapeutic treatment
and or assistance with the essential activities.
One call to Highlands Home Health can take care of all of your
in home medical needs. Our team of healthcare professionals
will work with you and your physician to develop a care plan
that is best for your individual needs.
Traditional Home Health Services
- Skilled Nursing Care
- Home Health Aide Services
- Rehabilitation Therapies - Speech, Occupational, and
Physical
- Outpatient Medical Supplies
- Home I.V. Therapies
- Referral for Medical Equipment
Home and Community Based Waiver Program Services
- Homemaker- general light household activities, laundry
and meal preparation
- Respite Care - provides patients (who require daily 24-hour
care) and their caregiver(s) short-term relief so the person
who provides the care may run errands, etc.
- Personal Care- basic personal care grooming and activities
of daily living.
- Minor Home Adaptations - small changes or additions made
to the patient's home. This will allow the recipient to
remain in their current living environment. (Bathtub rails,
commode rails, etc.)
- Attendant Care - Provides care for someone who has a
caregiver who works full-time outside the home. This caregiver
is not required to live in the recipient's home (up to 45
hours per week).
- Model II Ventilator Services - patients who require the
use of a home ventilator machine can qualify for up to 18
hours of nursing services per day to assist the caregiver.
How Do I Get Home Health?
Your physician must order home health care services for you.
Our referral staff will work closely with you and your physician
to see what type of assistance is needed.
Paying for Home Health
We will do our best to make sure that paying for your care is
as worry-free as possible. If Medicare and/or Kentucky Medicaid
cover you, you must meet certain guidelines for benefits. Needs
are based on your diagnosis and a Medicare/Medicaid Review.
Highlands Home Health accepts most insurances. We will
verify your eligibility and submit your claims directly to your
insurance carrier.

Highlands Home Health services patients located in both Johnson
and Floyd Counties.
